Record XVI: Slendy and Shadow

 It's too hard to fabricate the sense of in-the-moment since this happened a while ago (not really, just a few weeks), so I'll use something like, "I walked into the store" and such phrases.

~~~
"What are you doing here, again?" I asked the proxie - at least, that's what I believed him to be.
"I am here to stop Transgression (lights a pipe where his mouth should be ) Like the rest of you. And don't worry Shadow, Red Death won't be here...because Red Death has joined sides with Transgression. I'm not killed that easily.(blows smoke out of where his mouth should be) I wish she had, though. I felt refreshed after my first rebirth in 1599...made me feel better after being rejected by that lovely peasant girl."
"I see. Is it just us?" Oculus asked.
"NOT QUITE!" A man jumps down, nearly slashing off my arm and (slightly ironically) one of Mister Oculus's eyes. What was the deal with all these fears, jumping around and making over-dramatic entrances and exits?
"Ra- BUT YOU VOTED FOR HER TO BE RELEASED!" Pestilence say, fury obvious in his tone.
"Yeah! I wanted to chases her down for fun!" The man says. Most likely Abhorrence, one of the fears that I know about, and slightly idolize.
"F-F-F-F-F-FUN?" Pestilence practically yells. Abhorrence nods, smiling.
"Well, we should probably get some rest," Oculus says, trying to mediate again.
"We don't need sleep...we're fears," The proxie says. Maybe it is actually Slenderman, not Slenderman speaking through a figure.
"Well I don't know what--" Oculus says, slightly shocked. The way he fakes things disgusted me, like that of two centuries ago.
"Mister O...we know you don't sleep. You just like being by Iris," Zach said, smiling evily.
"...I see..." Oculus said.
"Well I'd hope you see, 'cause YOU'RE THE EYE!" Abhorrence said, laughing at his own joke. After a few awkward seconds, he stops laughing. It was a pretty good pun in my opinion, but that's all it is: My opinion.
Might as well break the silence. "A viable, if somewhat lame, attempt at foolery." I said.
Atmos walked in the room, looking around. "A fear party is going on, eh?" He said.
"PARTY!" Abhorrence yells.
"...this is not a party," Slendy said. I started calling him that because of his lengthy name.
"By the way, I need to tell you all something IF YOU'LL JUST SHUT UP!" Shadow yelled.
"Huh? Um, okay," Iris said.
Pestilence spoke, slightly annoyed, "I'm listening..."
"I hope you are aware of the archive, the blind man's 'little cult,'" Shadow said.
"The Blind man says he's staying neutral in this conflict," Sirius says. Too many fears! I thought to myself.
"Eh, that's like him. Just wants to record what happens," Oculus says.
Iris turns to Shadow and says, "What is it?"
"Well, a few years ago, a door from another universe opened in the empty city letting two beings to enter our universe," Shadow began. "Both had ties to the archive. The blind man sent a retrieval team to gain possession of these said beings. One one was recovered, and he has amnesia. He said his name was Ghost, and that he works for the archive. When asked about the other being, he said the it was a still an 'in progress experiment' of his universe's archive (yeah, we explained the door) to give birth to a new fear." Shadow toke a breath.
"She was injected with Nightlander DNA and she became pregnant almost instantly. The Nightlanders helped her escape and Ghost was sent after her. Apparently the blind man has predicted that she'll give birth in a mater of weeks," Shadow concluded.
Malim, who was probably thinking, finally burst, "And what if we DON'T want to shut up, eh? WHAD'YA GONNA DO 'BOUT THAT? HMM?"
"You sir, are slow in the head," Shadow said.
"And you sir, are a big [I'll remove this for 'ya]" I said
"You two BOTH need to learn to shut up," Iris says, covering Shadow's and Malim's mouth, mine being spared, with Zilvra.
Malim spat out the Zilvra, some fire-like liquid, and some gravel, and said, "I may or may not need to learn that girly, as that is MY choice."
Atmos, being ever-so-handy with his hand, takes out his knife and slits his hand, releasing a gold dust that settles in Malim's mouth, silencing it.
"Yes iris. anyways, back to the problem at hand," Shadow says, wiping off the Zilvra. "The subject 's name was Neomaria. And the "New Fear" could be very powerful, so if we might convince it to fight on our side, we could defeat the Enemy."
"A new fear being born from a human is highly unlikely....most of the time a new fear is just a rebirth of another fear who was destroyed. Of course...it's still possible." When did Zach become so knowledgeable? Then again, he is pretty old.
"Acording from what we can piece together from Ghost's memories, there are a few fears that don't exist in our universe, so she could give birth to some of them," Shadow replied.
"...universe? Whaty? Are we in a comic book?" Zach said.
"What's this about a theruni verse?" Iris said, confused.
"You humans aren't supposed to know that!" Sirius says. Pfft, so much for mister 'I don't keep secrets!'
"It is a secret to everyone," Abhorrence said, eying Sirius.
"The Blind Man tells his servants far too much..." Oculus said.
Okay, I'll spare you of Shadow's odd explanation consisting of Quantum Physics, Dimensional Bleeding, and Nuclear Cheesebombs. Oh yeah, Shadow and Iris are brother and sister (respectively, though I probably didn't need to say that)... O_O
I was told by Iris that Malim is freaking crazy, as he slammed me with Oculus's cane, after knowing its great slam potential. Then Shadow is just as much as crazy, even more after slamming Malim with Oculus's cane, who was greatly offended by the abusive behavior towards his cane.
Well, I'll leave Shadow to do the rest... Sorry folks! You'll have to bear with his bad spelling!
Flashback I: Seaderus
Seaderus, Age 10.
I stretch my wings - My current father has been keeping me inside way too long. He doesn't know I'm an arch-angel, and I want to keep it that way. I look back at the simple, two-story log cabin, sitting pretty on a lush, green hillside teeming with life. I sigh, and watch my 'dad's' car zoom off in the distance. Being an orphan's tough.
"Kat?" I yell. Katherine runs from somewhere in the city, smiling. I have been smiling ever since I found her again, sometime after I went looking for Dad. For all I know, he was dead, and we were orphans. Mom died some time ago. For about a month, some other arch-angels (Amos and Mailer was it? No, Atmos and Malim.) were taking care of me... before I left right under their eyes! That probably made me lose all my honor back there... Who cares?
"Coming Sead!" She yells back. She is barefoot, wearing a simple pink dress, flowing and fluctuating in the wind. Her presence almost calms me every time. She takes of a small jacket she was wearing, and lets it fall in the grass behind her, unfurling her pure white wings, like mine. She stops inches from me, and almost knocks me down the hillside. "Wow," She says, looking around. "This guy was single?"
"Yeah. What a surprise, right?"
"Did you make him forget you?"
"Yep! He doesn't know I exist."
"Do you ever feel guilty for doing so?"
"No."
"Bu--"
"C'mon! Let's go!" I hurry down the hillside, taking off my jacket as well. My wings unfurl, and I take off, Katherine not far behind.
~~~~~

We fly for some time, until Kat feels tired. We stop somewhere on a mountain range, near a shallow cave. I lie back on a rock, and Kat unzips her backpack, taking out an angelic pillow - An amazing things, as it takes up no space, but can expand to much any size one might want. She lies down on it. I look out upon the mountain side, the sun setting, casting the grey-black mountains into almost constant shadow.

"Is this what our life is?" She asks. "Just... running?"

"Yeah..." I sigh.

"Maybe... one day..." She pauses.

"Mmm?"

"We can settle down? Stop running?"

"Sure - we could do it now, if you'd like."

She beams with happiness. "Yes! YESYESYESYESYES!"

"Okay! We'll stay here!" I say, smiling.

Record XV: Argh, Shadow!

"Who is Slenderman?" Flu asks, slightly teary.

"No don't cry!" Oculus says, taking his time with the 'y', maybe for his 'good ideas' of childcare.

"He's a faceless man in a suit," Iris says gently, soothingly.

"Well," Flu begins, "I don't remember much, but I remember he was taking me somewhere, a place he said would make me happy," Flu starts to whisper, "but one of the kids there said he never lets you go once you agree to stay, even if you miss your Mommy and Daddy," She stops whispering, and continued, "So I ran. But for some reason, I knew exactly where he was and what he was doing. He was killed by a woman in burnt skin...but he somehow didn't stay dead." Another "What in the world?!" moments.

"Thank you, sweety," Iris says. Rowling jumps to Flu, and she pets the creature, pure and innocent delight in her eyes, despite all the things she has undoubtedly seen and experienced.

"Whats your name?" Shadow says.

"I...I don't remember," Flu says, breathing in a tense, congested gasp. Shadow, just shoot yourself, and SHUT UP!

"INFLUENZA IT IS!!! ...Though I suppose we could just call you Enza...I hope Slenderman..oh wait did you say he was killed? Ah he probably won't be wanting you back then...or but most fears are reborn after being killed." Pestilence frowns, as if losing his train of thought.

"There's another thing that changed...Pestilence used to never talk...now he WON'T SHUT UP!!!" Sirius says, performing the canine equivalent of laughing.

"Don't cry," Shadow says. He leans back towards Oculus, something I barely hear, "What do you think she meant by 'burnt skin?'"

"Transgression got him," Oculus murmurs back.

"It's all right. It's all right... I forgot my name, too," Iris says gently, hugging Flu. It never once did occur to me that 'Iris Dogood' couldn't be her real name... Did she really forget her name? Or was she just saying so to comfort Flu? Whatever the reason, they both seemed ecstatic now.

"We need to find Slenderman's peices. He may be able to pull himself back together." Oculus turns his head. Out of pride? Out of guilt? Out of jealousy? No, that was going too far. He most likely wiped her memory, or something. Not too low for a fear to do so. Hey, that rhymed!

"Hello there. Pestilence. Sirius. Oculus." A hooded figure emerges from the shadows.

"...That was fast..." Pestilence says.

"My pieces didn't get separated," The figure said. Slenderman? No, too short. Probably a proxy, though. Coward! Actually, I'll take that back - only God knows where he could be!

"Is every fear that tried to kill me coming here or something? Because I don't want to see the Red Death...again!"

Record XIV: Pestilence looks at me and my late father.

"Ah, Pestilence, I need to talk to you about--" Oculus starts. I really hate starting out a blog with him - It sets me off balance.

Pestilence looks at Oculus, then over Iris, then skips over Shadow, Malim, and Atmos. He stares at me, and for a moment--A very tiny moment, at best--His face falls, and he looks at me like he wants to finish the job. Then his face perks back up, his head jerking back to Oculus, a slow and sluggish movement. He has an impish smile plastered upon his face. "Mister Oculus, you've been keeping secrets from us," He says simply.

"WHAT?" Sirius barks. He growls, a deep and unworldly sound. "You know how I despise secrets."

Oculus's eyes reflect a fear that only me and my friends are really able to notice - and honestly, it's either fear or underdone meat. He smiles coolly, sighing, wiping the smile of his face, "Not much of a secret anymore, now is it?" He goes into more--boring--detail about Iris's situation and the Zilvra.

"Well," Pestilence smiles--he's planning something, I'm sure of it, "I regret to inform you, I cannot remove the Zilvra from..." He pauses, smiling even wider, "Your sweetheart." Sirius chuckles--to the best of a dog's ability, anyways. "However, she will adjus--" Pestilence's eyes (which were wondering around the room) fall on Shadow, who is tense, and, for the first time, I see the enmity between the two, and one of the things we have in common, that being enmity. "Well, well. Look who it is." Pestilence doesn't sound pleased.

"Hello," Shadow says, leaning against a wall. Punk? Who knows? WHO CARES? "Lovely to see you here. Having a nice time making the world suffer?"

Pestilence takes the question as a serious remark, his tone full of glee, "Ah, it's almost too easy. They believe whatever anyone on the internet says, and ignore scientific findings. Ah they're all conspiracy theorists when it comes to medicine." His face falls. "Actually, it gets kind of boring sometimes...I mean, really, I thought convincing people shots were bad for you would be hard, but...ah well, a little bit of boredom is the price of power, sometimes." He sighs, as if legitimately bored. Is this what power brings you? Inhumane, selfish rule? Maybe losing your humanity? Maybe I don't have any to lose. Mr. Oculus rolls his eyes.

At this moment, I see Atmos limping in, covered in a coat of blood. Please let no one notice, please let no one notice! Everyone in the room, of course, looks towards him. I knew what they where thinking. Atmos and Malim exchange a glance or two, and I drag them to one corner of the room.

"Well, I felt the sensation coming, and I didn't want to disturb them, but I found another one of those objects you're looking for!"

My heart skips one beat. Two, then three. I breathe deeply. These objects have been hinting me on where to find my sister. I just have to find her. It was almost never just "Seaderus," it was SeaderusandKat, KatandSeaderus.

"What... What did it look like?" I murmur.

Atmos murmurs back, nigh on incoherent, "It looked like a portrait... of her..."

"I don't give a **** and you know it!" Malim says.

"Frick's sake, calm down! Just fricking tell me!"

"Hey boys, have something you want to share with the rest of us," Sirius barks, "or would you rather I target you three next?" A menial threat.

I look over my shoulder, my eyes full of contempt, "A private matter, none of your beeswax,"

"It probably is, considering that--" Malim starts.

"I am aware of what he is. What I am not is afraid." I wince. That was something that my father used to say, paraphrased slightly. Malim and Atmos continue whispering, while I look Sirius in the eye.

Sirius growls. "Some things are better kept secrets," Oculus says.

"I. DON'T. CARE!" Sirius barks.

"Boys, there's no changing his mind, just so you know...he'll get that secret out of you no matter what it take." Oculus sighs.

"Well," I begin, "I got new for you, Sirius. Neither. Do. I!"

"Suit yourself..." He rears, and lunges for Atmos's ankle. Suit yourself, stupid mutt! Atmos's ankle disperses, and reforms. Foul-smelling dust is left in its place, and the dust sticks Sirius's jaws together. I laugh, internally.

"Oh dear." Oculus says

"Well, why they're doing that, I say we try and figure out where Slenderman is. I have someone who's tuned into him," Pestilence says, throwing down a burlap sack.

Sirius spits out the substance, being a fear, is one of the only ones to be able to do so. "You..just plucked up a human...and shoved it into a bag?"

"How else was I supposed to get her in there?" Pestilence pulls out a seven-year-old girl. I could almost hear the jaws it the floor.

"Oh my .What the..."

"I haven't seen a Receiver case this bad ever before. Do you know who...?"

"She has amnesia, too. I decided to call her Influenza...I think Slenderman tried to abduct her. Been a while since he went after children." Pestilence nods.

"You named her after the flu?" Oculus says incredulously.

"She should be honored!"

"You nicnamed her after the flu. Lovely," Shadow says.

"Hey! The flu is my favorite disease! Now, Dr. Mager, where has Polio run off to?"

"Infecting some children."

"MARVELOUS! All right, down to business." Pestilence faces Flu. "Now, do you know where the Slenderman is?" Flu looks as if she is going to cry. "WELL!!! Mister Oculus, you deal with children on a regular basis!" Mister Oculus receives a rough shove from Pestilence.

"Wha--oh, hi there..." Oculus, the master of children. Sure...

Record XIII: An unlucky meeting... get the pun?

"All right! We're here..." Oculus says, but trials off, as if giving up on being pleasant. I knew the eye man could try if he wanted to. Maybe he wanted to only impress his 'Girl-friend.' If I remember correctly, the last time something like that happened... I actually don't remember correctly. Something bad happened.

"I thought we'd never get here with all that arguing..." Zach mutters.

"Hello Mister Oculus." A dog trots up to Oculus, standing only three feat away. My mind reels. A dog? What the heck?

"...That dog just talked," Zach says, astonished.

"I was a floating eyeball when you first met me," Oculus says, crossing his arms.

"Riiiight. Forgot about that..."

"What does the Dog want?" I say.

"I'm one of the fears who was against Transgression being freed...The Eye and I also have worked together many time,"

"Yes, but who exactly are you?"

Oculus ignores me, saying, "It's Mister Oculus, now, just like you changed your name to Sirius...say what breed did you transform into?" So that's his name.

"A Rottweiler, currently." Obvious... For an eye, Oculus isn't that observant...

"Huh. Last time you were a husky."

"I had to disguise as a chiwawa last night...luckily it didn't take long to expose that girl's secrets. She confessed almost instantly." I almost forgot that that he was the fear of kept-secrets. I did not know the name, though. Sirius...

"Ah, so good to see you. My master has been waiting," A figure walks into the room. Half his head is covered in bandages running diagonal, blackened with age, and crusted with a green-red mold. The rest of his face was heavily scarred. His eyes are are wide with the lust for knowledge, and a curly beard protrudes from his cheek, like it was hastily applied with superglue. I am tempted to pull on it to make sure it's real.

"Ah, Dr. Mager...so nice to actually see you on friendly terms. I trust you do not plan on trying to dissect me again?"

"Sadly, no. I just finished making a three-way cross between a kitten, a bunny, and a puppy. It was too cute, though. I was going to feed it to one of my other creations, but my master insisted I give it to you to give to...someone?"

Shadow stirs from his slumber, mumbling incoherently like a drunk man.

"Oh good, you're awake." Oculus doesn't sound pleased. He takes the compound-creature from Dr. Mager, and hands it to Iris. "Yes, this should cheer Iris up a bit. Thank you. Where is you master, anyway?"

"Out, doing his best to convince people shots cause Autism and whatnot. Amazing what people believe with no scientific data to back it up... Actually, he's thinking of trying to convinvince people that all murder is the result of a mental disorder...and some people are buying it!"

Oculus cringes, and with three eyes, it's both fun to watch, and no small feat. "Uh-huh... Interesting..."

Iris wakes up, with the creature on her chest. "Wah... What's that?" Iris mumbles, her voice feeble and weak.

"A gift from Dr. Mager," Oculus explains.

"It's so cute. Thank you," Iris says with little emotion.

"Hmph, your welcome, but I won't be making any more. Ever again." Mager says.

"I'll call you... Rowling!"

"It can be trained to attack enemies, and can be aggressive towards enemies. I intended it to be a gaurd monster of sorts. It does a good job...it was just too cute to be taken seriously. He also has mild telekinetic powers as well."

Three things happen at once. Not exciting things, but things that might happen, but coalesce to something odd. Rowling, as it is called now, uses... mind power? To sneak a treat out of Mager's pocket. I laugh, and say, "You missing something, Mager?" At this point, however, Shadow and Atmos wander off, wondering and exploring.

"Dr. Mager? Do you know anything about what happens when Azoth enters a body?" Oculus asks. Why in the world would he ask a question like that?

"Why certainly. Sometimes when the Azoth enters the body, the Azoth takes over that body. Other times, it merely causes the human to become tuned into the Slenderman." That's a little trippy; turned into the slenderman?

"Has it ever caused Slenderman to become tuned to a person?"

"Slenderman automatically becomes tuned to any being with Azoth...why are you asking?"

"Oh, just curiousity."

"Right. So there's something in that girl?" Mager questions, raising an eyebrow. Oculus searches for words, opening and closing his mouth, air going in and out sharply, like that of a fish. "Your not as subtle as you wish you were, Oculus. So, let me guess...you also want to know if Azoth was able to be removed from people. Am I correct?"

Oculus swallows, a deep thwunk-ing noise. "Actually, yes."

"Sorry, but the majority of humans who had Azoth removed died from the process...you can ask Pestilence when he gets back, since he is more knowledgeable on the subject...but beyond what I've just said, can't help."

Oculus's face falls. "Thank you anyway."

Mager's face lights up, as if having an epiphany. "Really, if your servant has been infected with Azoth, I would recommend--"

"I know what you would recomend. It is not azoth she is infected with but something similiar...and, no, I am not killing her." Oculus says. That guy really scares the crap out of me sometimes. Iris looks shocked, performing the same maneuver that Oculus performed under a half minute ago.

"Iris, I think your...um..pet is trying to eat your hair." Shadow says.

Iris looks at Rowling, who, in fact, is happily chewing on Iris's hair. "No Rowling, hair is not tasty." I laugh, only internally. It's such an innocent gesture, I forget that good can come out of even the simplest of things.

"The allmighty power of cuteness..." Zach mutters. Can't that imbecile speak clearly for once?

"Anyhow, Pestilence set up a room for you all to stay in...you're lucky he found a room at all. We sent a message to Slenderman, but he hasn't replied...we think something may have happened to him. You know how Transgression was in the old days..." Sirius says.

"Yes, yes, I am familiar with her numerous attempts to destroy him," Oculus says.

Shadow speaks, as if just noticing Sirius. "Oh joy, its you. thanks for turning my friend into a puppy the last time we met."

"Don't be so upset...he was much cuter as a puppy, and suddenly had what he always wanted....the ability to attract females." Sirius smiles wickedly.

Oculus chuckles. "That's not a very nice thing to say."

"You know how I am...I hold nothing back, keep no secrets...and that was the truth. YOU, on the other hand, have grown soft..." I tune out the conversation. Fears talking about their powers makes me feel... erm... The heck with it. It makes me feel jea...jeal... COME ON, SEADERUS! Jealous. There. It's out. Now shush!

I tune back in when Pestilence almost knocks me over.

Record XII: Shadow is... jealous?!

In a whirlwind of speed, Oculus grabs my foot. Not like I needed help, for frick's sake. I got wings, Oculus!

"Let people choose for themselves which way to travel..." Oculus says, beginning the sequence of teleporting. He looks older, more obsolete, and his eyes look down, like the muscles behind them are too tired to continue. His hat even seems to turn a lighter tint of black. "You better decide. Quickly."

"We're all going!" I blurt out. "Except Shadow!"

Shadow nods his head, and smiles mischievously."Ill take Iris and Seaderus," Shadow says, "unless you want to take her with you and have a little naked bed time, lover boy."

Oculus stares at Shadow, renewed strength gathering inside him. His eyes stare down upon Shadow, and I'm surprised that they don't form daggers. "OUR RELATIONSHIP IS CHASTE BECAUSE SHE BELIEVES IN ABSTINENCE UNTIL MARRIAGE, AND QUITE FRANKLY, I'M KEEPING HER WITH ME!" Oculus says, hitting Shadow on the head with his cane. I believe Oculus could've decimated the crap out of Shadow's head if he wanted to, or maybe wasn't afraid to do so. You never can tell...

"I keep telling ya...never make Mister Oculus mad," Zach says, tutting with disapproval, yet smiling at the same time.

For once, could you shut up? I think to myself. All I can muster to say is, "For once, I'll say 'yes' to you." I curse myself, as Zach flashes an evil smile to me.

"Very well then. We'll teleport after you leave," Oculus says, holding Iris.

Shadow speaks, rubbing the place of injury, "Either way, you'll still be with her, she is apart of you currently. plus she need time two heal, which she'll get if--and only if--she sleep during the trip on the train." Shadow nods his head. What train ride?

"We're still separate beings-whatever, just go so we can teleport." Oculus takes off his jacket, and folds it up to form a pillow, and puts it under Iris's head.

To change the subject, I say, "How do you plan on separating?"

Zach, changing the subject back, says, "Once you two go through the door Shadow made, it will dissapear and then Mister Oculus can teleport. In other words..." He grasps the cuff of my neck, and hurls it towards Shadow, sending us flying through the door. "JUST GO THROUGH ALREADY!" He laughs maliciously, and I stare daggers right at him. Then I remember I do have a knife, right in my pocket. I almost throw it, if not for the fact that the trans-dimensional doorway was less then two feet away. I use the knife to cut of my (favorite) jacket, and fly just above the door, crashing into the Zilvra.

"Nuh-uh! I'm going with you," I say defiantly.

"Iris is staying with us, period. End of  story. If you argue any further, I'll knock you out and just make you teleport with the rest of us," Oculus speaks with a harsh, edgy tone. I wonder how many times he disregards who he doesn't want to notice. A very obsolete gesture... "Am I clear?" His stentorian voice booms out across the dome.

"Then how about you come with me? I'm sure Seaderus will take good care of Zach..." He knows how to get under Zach's skin, but not mine... yet.

"Sure I will. I am still going with Oculus and company, kay?"

"You are such a stubborn boy!" Oculus whams his cane to the side of Shadow's jaw, knocking him out cold. He almost hit me - I could feel the breeze created by his strike for seconds afterwards. I laugh, as do Atmos and Malim.

I put on the remains of my jacket, and we teleport, a sick feeling in my stomach.
